SSE STAR Market Debuts

At the opening ceremony of the 11th Lujiazui Forum 2019 on June 13, 2019, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government co-hold the launch ceremony of the Sci-Tech innovAtion boaRd (STAR Market) of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE).

Jointly launching the SSE STAR Market are Liu He, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, Li Qiang, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Party Secretary of Shanghai, Yi Huiman, CSRC Chairman and Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai. Yi Huiman presides over the launch ceremony and delivers a speech.

Also attending the launch ceremony are heads of the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Central Commission for Integrated Military and Civilian Development, the Constitution and Law Committee and the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress, the Supreme People’s Court, the General Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce, the People’s Bank of China, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the State Administration of Taxation, the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.

The launch of the SSE STAR Market marks the implementation of establishing the SSE STAR Market and piloting the registration-based IPO system, in a large step forward for the major reform task assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Next, the CSRC will, together with all the market participants, seriously make preparations for the listing on the SSE STAR Market and propel its steady opening and sound operation.
